This study investigates the impact of maternal cafeteria diets and methyl donor supplementation on the behavioral and nutritional outcomes of male offspring. The research reveals that a cafeteria diet reduces social interactions and induces anxiety-like behaviors in offspring, while methyl donor supplementation helps normalize social behavior but increases anxiety tendencies. The findings highlight the epigenetic influence of maternal diets on neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, mediated through DNA methylation and gene regulation associated with neurotransmitter pathways.
