Summary: This systematic review explores the insufficient nutrition education provided to medical students and practitioners and its implications for patient care. Reviewing 25 studies, the analysis reveals that inadequate training leads to gaps in nutrition-related patient counseling, especially in chronic disease management. The findings highlight the need for expanded nutrition curricula in medical education, with a minimum of 44 contact hours recommended to build competency in clinical nutrition.
