This FAO DIEM-Impact report (2023) analyzes the effects of conflict on agriculture and food security in Ituri, DRC, where armed groups and displacement have severely disrupted farming livelihoods.
        •        Key Findings:
        •        1.7 million people displaced, with 82% living in host communities.
        •        Cassava, maize, and beans are the main crops, but 55% of farmers report reduced land cultivation.
        •        Livestock theft (28%) and access to feed (46%) are major challenges for animal farming.
        •        Food insecurity is severe, with 81% of households food insecure, including 60% facing extreme hunger.
        •        Recommendations:
        •        Improve access to farmland for displaced farmers.
        •        Strengthen food security interventions and resilience programs.
        •        Enhance market access and agricultural support services.
