This FAO Regional Conference for Asia and the Pacific (APRC) 2024 report explores the One Health approach, which integrates human, animal, plant, and environmental health to improve food security and resilience in the Pacific region.
        •        Key Challenges Addressed:
        •        Climate change impacts, including rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and vector-borne diseases.
        •        Food security concerns due to dependence on imported ultra-processed foods and cheap meat offcuts.
        •        Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) risks from overuse of agrochemicals.
        •        Livestock and fisheries disease outbreaks, such as African swine fever and vibriosis.
        •        Policy Recommendations:
        •        Establishing national One Health coordination committees.
        •        Strengthening early warning systems for food safety and disease outbreaks.
        •        Integrating One Health into national agricultural and environmental policies.
        •        Enhancing collaboration between governments, civil society, and donors.

The report urges Pacific Island Countries (PICs) to adopt a One Health strategy to improve agrifood systems, climate resilience, and public health.
