Food waste within food supply chains: Quantification and potential for change to 2050

This peer review article looks at how to build long-term sustainability and reduce food loss and waste across the food supply chain in lower income countries. Locally supported government policies and investment are needed to link markets. This paper gives examples of systemic approaches to food waste reduction, including various cooperative schemes, such as the Common Code for Coffee Community and the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative.
