This systematic review examines barriers and enablers to antenatal care (ANC) uptake in Uganda, analyzing 47 studies from 2012 to 2022. Socioeconomic factors, including wealth, education, and marital status, were identified as significant determinants of ANC utilization. Barriers include financial constraints, cultural beliefs, and geographical challenges. Recommendations emphasize financial empowerment, reliable ANC equipment, and community education to improve access and align with WHO’s eight-visit ANC guidelines, potentially reducing maternal mortality.
