A laboratory investigation assessing the stability of 13 nutritional, noncommunicable disease, and inflammatory biomarkers in serum/plasma after a one-month freeze-thaw cycle at −70°C. Results show minimal changes within acceptable analytical limits, with vitamin D, cholesterol, HDL, and a few others showing statistically significant but small deviations. Findings confirm that single freeze-thaw cycles have negligible impact on the reliability of biomarker concentrations, supporting their use in large-scale nutrition and health surveys.
