This study investigates the impact of maternal clofibrate supplementation during late gestation and early lactation on the growth and hepatic fatty acid metabolism of neonatal piglets. Results indicate improved energy utilization and growth performance due to enhanced fatty acid oxidation in piglets, despite no direct transfer of clofibrate through milk. The findings suggest potential strategies for reducing neonatal mortality in the swine industry.
