This randomized trial evaluates the SaltSwitch Online Grocery Shopping extension, which nudges consumers towards lower-sodium alternatives during online shopping. Over 12 weeks, the intervention group reduced sodium density in purchases by 204 mg/1000 kcal. While there were no significant effects on blood pressure, the study demonstrates the potential for online platforms to promote healthier dietary behaviors at scale.
