The article titled "Effect of Nutrient Management Options on Productivity and Nutritional Quality of Organically Grown Basmati Rice" by Yashbir Singh Shivay, Dinesh Kumar, and K.S. Reddy investigates the impact of various organic nutrient management strategies on Basmati rice productivity and quality. Conducted as a long-term experiment over 20 years, the study examined the effectiveness of combining farmyard manure (FYM), Sesbania green manuring (SGM), and blue-green algae (BGA). The highest grain and straw yields were recorded with the application of SGM + FYM + BGA, which also improved the nutritional content, including higher nitrogen and zinc concentrations in rice grains. The study concludes that this organic nutrient combination is the most effective for increasing both productivity and nutritional quality in organically grown Basmati rice.
