This randomized controlled trial (RCT) evaluates the impact of a 12-week smartphone-based dietary education intervention on dietary habits and cardiometabolic markers in people with type 2 diabetes. Conducted in Sweden, the intervention focused on dietary improvements through mobile health (mHealth) tools. While the intervention did not significantly alter overall diet quality, it led to a reduction in saturated fat intake and lower serum triglyceride levels compared to the control group. The study suggests that mHealth interventions may support dietary modifications in diabetes management, but further research is needed to establish long-term effects.
