This study investigates how the digital transformation of circulation systems (DTC) influences the sustainable resilience of food systems (SRFS) in China using panel data from 30 provinces between 2013 and 2022. The authors define SRFS as the ability of food systems to maintain economic, environmental, social, and governance stability under shocks such as climate change, economic disruption, and supply chain instability.
The paper develops a multidimensional framework connecting digital circulation technologies with food system resilience through three primary mechanisms: improved supply-chain efficiency, reduction of factor market distortions, and promotion of industrial convergence. Theoretical models and diagrams on pages 2–3 illustrate how digital infrastructure, logistics systems, e-commerce, and integrated supply chains contribute to more adaptive and sustainable food systems.
