The CASCADE project in Benin supports the implementation of national nutrition policies across 20 communes in six departments. Led by CARE and GAIN, with local partners, the program strengthens multisectoral nutrition coordination, private sector investment, community engagement, and accountability in service delivery. Major achievements include integrating nutrition into local development plans, launching the SUN Business Network (SBN) in Benin, adopting the Farmer Field and Business School model into national strategies, and enhancing school meal programs. The project also conducted a Nutrition Governance Index study and strengthened grassroots organizations through training in climate-resilient agriculture and food safety.
