This study evaluated the link between the sulfur microbial diet (SMD) and esophageal cancer (EC) using a large cohort from the Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial. Higher adherence to SMD was associated with an increased risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), but not esophageal adenocarcinoma. Findings emphasize the need for dietary modifications to mitigate EC risks.
