The UN Decade of Family Farming: Continuity and Change

This regional project revitalized family farming agendas across Latin America and the Caribbean. Twelve countries developed national plans and laws aligning with the UNDFF goals. The initiative empowered smallholders, women, youth, and Indigenous Peoples by strengthening policy, training, and subregional cooperation. It supported SDGs 1 and 2 and positioned family farming as a key driver of rural development and sustainable food systems.
