This study evaluates a school-based nutrition education program in Japan that includes assignments for both children and their guardians to facilitate family communication and improve nutrition knowledge. Conducted across 14 schools, the program significantly increased children’s nutrition knowledge, particularly for those with lower initial levels. The involvement of guardians fostered communication and awareness of dietary practices, highlighting the program’s potential to address knowledge disparities in public schools.
