This systematic review analyzed 16 interventional studies across the EU-28 evaluating strategies to prevent Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). The most effective interventions combined dietary changes, physical activity, and personalized lifestyle counseling, particularly for high-risk individuals. While 10 studies showed significant T2D incidence reduction, generalizability was limited. There is a gap in implementation and scalability of interventions across diverse EU populations. The review urges more high-quality, real-world trials and policy engagement for lifestyle-based prevention programs targeting T2D.
