Phytochemical and Nutritional Analysis of Diploknema butyracea Seeds

The article investigates the nutritional composition and phytochemical profile of Cheura seeds (Diploknema butyracea), a valuable tree-borne oilseed found in the sub-Himalayan region. Using high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC), the study identifies key bioactive compounds and notes a high fatty oil content (42–47%). It emphasizes the potential of Cheura seeds in food, medicinal products, and rural income generation, supporting biodiversity conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
