This cross-sectional study of 1,268 university students in northern Spain explored adherence to the Mediterranean Diet (MD) and its association with emotional and behavioral health. Only 29.3% had high adherence. Those with better MD adherence showed higher emotional intelligence, lower suicidal ideation, fewer emotional problems, and reduced compulsive internet use. The study advocates for interdisciplinary strategies on campuses to enhance diet quality and promote overall well-being.
