South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Agricultural Development: FAO’s Experiences

This report documents FAO’s decades-long role in promoting South-South and triangular cooperation (SSTC) to address agricultural challenges. Through grassroots development, institutional capacity-building, and policy initiatives, SSTC has supported productivity, resilience, and poverty reduction. Three case studies showcase SSTC’s impact in Madagascar, the Mesoamerica region, and rice value chains. Lessons call for improved documentation, inclusive strategies, and broader partnerships to sustain results.
