This study analyzes changes in school food and physical activity (PA) environments across four New Jersey school districts between 2010 and 2015. While PA environments remained largely unchanged, there was a noticeable increase in healthy food options in vending machines and school lunches. However, the study found only modest reductions in unhealthy food offerings. The research suggests that policy-driven interventions are effective in improving school nutrition but require more robust enforcement and community engagement.
