This narrative review highlights the protective metabolic benefits of sulforaphane (SFN), a compound found in cruciferous vegetables. SFN acts via the Nrf2 pathway, promoting antioxidant and anti-inflammatory responses. It may reduce oxidative stress, improve mitochondrial function, and mitigate conditions like obesity, type 2 diabetes, and aging-related metabolic decline. The review also outlines safe dosing, bioavailability, and potential applications in geroscience and nutraceutical interventions. SFN’s capacity to activate endogenous antioxidant systems positions it as a promising agent for lifelong metabolic health.
