This study examined nutritional habits and adherence to the Mediterranean diet in 240 Spanish children aged 8–11 using the KIDMED questionnaire. Only 45.4% of children showed optimal adherence, with no significant gender differences in overall scores. However, among 10- and 11-year-olds, boys and girls differed in specific habits—notably in consumption of olive oil, nuts, yogurt, cheese, and skipping breakfast. These findings highlight a need to strengthen healthy dietary habits, especially from age 10 onward, and underscore the importance of gender-sensitive nutrition interventions in school settings.
