This study from Nature Food uses UK Biobank data to estimate gains in life expectancy from dietary changes. Switching from unhealthy diets to the Eatwell Guide or longevity-associated patterns could increase life expectancy by 8–10 years. Whole grains, fruits, nuts, and reduced intake of processed meats and sugary drinks contributed the most. The study supports policy development for healthier eating habits to extend life expectancy.
