This FAO, CIRAD, and RUAF study analyzes how city region food systems (CRFS) adapt to global shocks such as COVID-19 and the Ukraine conflict, which have disrupted food supply chains. Based on a global survey of 147 cities, it assesses key stressors, their impact on food systems, and effective policy responses.
        •        Major Challenges: Climate shocks, political instability, supply chain disruptions, and economic downturns.
        •        Key Adaptation Strategies: Urban agriculture, local food policies, improved storage and logistics, and decentralized food distribution networks.

Findings emphasize the importance of local governance, food sovereignty, and multi-stakeholder collaboration in making urban food systems more resilient to future crises.
