This study of 44,939 Spanish healthcare workers explored how variables like age, gender, occupation, physical activity, smoking, and Mediterranean diet adherence impact body fat (BF) and visceral fat (VF). The data revealed significantly elevated fat levels in older individuals, males, and sedentary workers—especially among nursing assistants and orderlies. Adherence to the Mediterranean diet and physical activity were protective, while sedentary behavior and aging were risk factors. The study supports targeted workplace wellness strategies focusing on age-specific and job-role-specific interventions to mitigate fat accumulation and related health risks.
