This FAO-GEF project enhanced biodiversity in the Dongting Lake ecosystem through integrated lake management, habitat restoration, and alternative livelihoods like ecotourism and ecological fisheries. Over 44,000 ha of wetlands were restored. The initiative promoted biodiversity mainstreaming and cross-sector collaboration with strong community involvement.
