Mwanzo Bora was a five-year nutrition programme in Tanzania implemented by Africa care and BBC Media Action with the support of USAID. This case study is interesting because it shows the diverse way that the private sector can get involved in nutrition behaviours. In this case, BBC Media Action mentored a local radio station to give public service announcements to stress the importance of good nutrition practices. The results were extremely positive: the public service announcements were able to build trust and address knowledge gaps in the community, which was regarded as an important step by mothers to be able to follow them. While the two-page briefing does not especially look at the nature of public private engagement, it does show that behavior change is possible through collaboration.
