This document explores India’s adaptation of the MAMI (Management of At-risk Mothers and Infants under six months) Care Pathway to improve infant nutrition and care. The adaptation focused on early identification of growth failure using WAZ and MUAC, integrated service delivery across health platforms, and improved capacity at NRCs. The care pathway was aligned with India's public health system through multi-stakeholder consultations and field testing from 2018 to 2021.

Pilot efforts in states like Maharashtra and Bihar showed promising outcomes in early detection and support for at-risk infants. The model includes maternal mental health counseling, targeted breastfeeding support, and follow-up mechanisms. It advocates for scale-up through integration with GMP, home visits, and digital tracking, contributing to national efforts to reduce infant morbidity and mortality in vulnerable populations.
