The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has developed an SDG progress report to examine key data and trends for indicators under FAO’s custodianship. FAO is the designated custodian agency for 21 SDG indicators in total, and data is currently available for 18 of these. The indicators fall under four goals:

  • Goal 2: Zero Hunger: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
  • Goal 6: Clean water and sanitation: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.
  • Goal 14: Life below water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources.
  • Goal 15: Life on land: Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss.

Overall, we still have a lot of work to do but this report provide as very helpful assessment of progress to date, complete with very helpful data visualisations.
