SCN NEWS is published twice a year by the United Nations System Standing Committee on Nutrition. This issue focuses on the role of business in improving nutrition, covering commentaries, feature papers and examples of engagement frameworks. It includes a number of peer review papers; for example, analysis of the governance of public private engagement for diet and health, with a focus on risks involved for both sectors. Another paper looks at the potential for public private engagement in humanitarian emergencies, using the example of cash based emergency assistance in Haiti. Although complex, the visual for the market chain in this context is useful to conceptualise, while examples of other public private collaborations in humanitarian contexts show that there are many gains to be had.
