This short article by the World Economic Forum is a must read for public and private actors working in the food system. Since the pandemic, not only are incredible quantities of food going to waste and contributing to food insecurity around the world - the methane produced is significantly increasing greenhouse levels in the atmosphere. Methane is especially potent at trapping heat. To put it into context, farmers are dumping 14 million litres of milk since the pandemic. Falls in major food commodities -  dairy, meat, cereal, vegetable – will continue to cause food insecurity to rise.  This article gives the facts. It also shows areas where collaboration can make a difference. Now more than ever, it is up to public private sectors to take the responsibilities and opportunities to do things differently.
